Erlend Magnussen Fleisje

Erlend Magnussen Fleisje is a Senior Economist at Oslo Economics. He has a PhD in Economics from the University of Oslo, with a specialisation in the Economics of Education. His previous education includes a BA (Economics) from Cambridge and an MPhil from the University of Oslo. His work at Oslo Economics is centered on labour markets and policy, corporate data and econometric evaluations on registry and other data. He has work experience from Norges Bank, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Education and Research (Kunnskapsdepartementet) and has taught statistics and microeconomics.

New Museum for Art and Design in Trondheim?

Oslo Economics, in collaboration with Bygganalyse, Snøhetta and SYSTRA, has completed the first stage of quality assurance (QA1) for a concept study on a new museum for art and design in Trondheim. The study looks at future solutions for Trondheim Art Museum and the National Museum of Decorative Arts and Design. Their current buildings are outdated, and the National Museum of Decorative Arts and Design is partly closed.

Oslo Economics has investigated how the increased labor immigration to Norway after the EEA expansion in 2004 affected employment among the domestic population. Based on register data analyses, we find that there is no overall displacement effect. However, the immigration did affect the occupational structure and educational choices among young people.
