Elias is an expert in competition economics and managing partner at the Berlin office of Oslo Economics. His areas of expertise include horizontal and vertical agreements between firms, abuse of dominance, merger evaluation, commercial damages and litigation, and market regulation. Elias has extensive experience in advising clients from a broad set of industries, giving expert testimony in court, and dealing with competition authorities. He is known for providing robust economic analysis and advise tailored to his client’s needs.
Elias holds a PhD in Economics from NHH Norwegian School of Economics and Masters’ Degrees in Economics, and International Economics and Business Sciences from the University of Innsbruck (Austria). He has several years of experience in academic research specializing in empirical methods for identifying effects of political and economic measures. His research is published in renowned economic journals and covers a variety of topics including the impact of fiscal policy and resource rents on economic growth, the development and economic effects of institutions, and price effects of mergers. Elias regularly gives guest lectures on empirical competition economics.
Elias is fluent in German, English, and Norwegian, and has a working knowledge of French.
