The value transmitted through digital infrastructure is expected to increase in the coming years, which contributes to a higher risk of security breaches. Additionally, growing global instability has led to a greater desire for increased control over critical technology and technological infrastructure, both nationally and among our allies.
Ekomsikkerhetsutvalget has assessed how Norway can maintain national control over critical digital communication infrastructure through various measures, such as regulation and state ownership. The committee sought assistance in describing key developments and trends that highlight the expected evolution of our national critical infrastructure in the years ahead.
Oslo Economics conducted the project in collaboration with NUPI. To address the issue, we interviewed market players, industry organizations, and government agencies, as well as reviewed statistics and documents.
