Oslo Economics, Atkins Norway, and the architecture firm Snøhetta are preparing a conceptual study and cost-benefit analysis of future potential uses of Tullinløkka square and the adjoining buildings in central Oslo. The state real estate developer Statsbygg has commissioned the report as part of their task of presenting alternatives for development to the government.
The buildings involved currently house the National Museum and the Museum of Cultural History, and the areas include nearby Akademihagen. The need for the conceptual study arises from the relocation of the National Museum in 2020 into a new museum building on the Vestbanen property on the city waterfront.
