On behalf of Jernbaneverket (the Norwegian National Rail Administration) Oslo Economics is planning the Dovre line, the section Sørli (20 km south of Hamar) – Hamar – Lillehammer. This section is part the double InterCity development project. Jernbaneverket is responsible for the management of the national railway network, on behalf of the Ministry of Transport and Communication.
According to The Norwegian National Transport Plan (NTP) the full InterCity development project is expected to be completed in 2030. The planning and construction will take place in two phases. The first phase includes the routes from Oslo to Hamar, Tønsberg and Fredrikstad, and is expected to be finished by 2026. The final phase includes the remaining InterCity sections to Lillehammer, Skien and Halden.
The project is a contribution to the preliminary municipal sector plan for the sector Sørli – Brumunddal. The project also includes a feasibility study of the line Brumunddal – Lillehammer. Oslo Economics is involved in the economic analyses of the project.
The work is a collaboration with Rambøll and Sweco.
