Christopher Markhus Poots

Christopher Markhus Poots holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Economics and Business Administration from the Norwegian School of Economics, with a research-oriented track and specialization in economics. He has also completed a PhD course in econometrics at the University of Oslo. At Oslo Economics, Christopher has extensive experience from research projects and consultancy assignments within the sectors of labor, welfare, and justice, as well as energy. In the labor market, he has worked on several large mappings and evaluations related to sick leave management, inclusion efforts, and the Intention Agreement for a more inclusive working life (IA-agreement), labor market measures, and various benefits in the social security system. In the field of justice, he has particular experience from projects on child and youth crime, punitive responses, and the courts.

Christopher has project management experience from both Norwegian and international projects, including several large projects in collaboration with external researchers and other research environments. He has a broad methodological competence from both qualitative and quantitative research methods, but he has particularly strong competence in empirical methods and econometrics. Christopher has been responsible for and conducted several large analyses of registry data from, among others, the Norwegian Statistics Bureau (SSB), the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration (NAV), and the Court Administration. In several projects, he has worked with advanced non-experimental methods to estimate effects of various interventions, such as labor market measures and punitive responses.
