{"id":2661,"date":"2014-04-24T08:51:41","date_gmt":"2014-04-24T08:51:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/osloeconomics.no\/?p=2661"},"modified":"2022-02-18T16:56:26","modified_gmt":"2022-02-18T15:56:26","slug":"the-transport-system-in-alesund-should-be-developed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/osloeconomics.no\/en\/the-transport-system-in-alesund-should-be-developed\/","title":{"rendered":"The transport system in \u00c5lesund should be developed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On behalf of the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Transport and Communications, Oslo Economics and Terramar have performed quality assurance of the Norwegian Public Roads Administration\u2019s (NPRA) concept study for transport system in \u00c5lesund.<\/p>\n<p>The analysis shows that there is a basis for developing the transport system in the city.&nbsp;We recommend a different concept than NPRA, the so-called \u00abSentrumskonseptet\u00bb (City Center Concept). Furthermore, we recommend building a new bridge to Ellings\u00f8y and building the Borgundfjord tunnel to Sula. The City Center Concept might solve the major traffic problems in the city centre,&nbsp;and enable&nbsp;urban development. A bridge to Ellings\u00f8y and a tunnel to Sula will meet the needs related to the development of \u00c5lesund as a regional centre, and will help linking the city with the surrounding municipalities.
