Mie Hustad holds a master’s degree (MSc) in economics from the University of Copenhagen (KU), with a specialization in public economics. Her academic background also includes a bachelor’s degree in international relations, with a specialization in political science, from the University of Oslo (UiO), as well as a bachelor’s degree in economics from the same institution. This interdisciplinary background gives her a broad understanding of both economic and political dynamics. 

At Oslo Economics, Mie has worked on evaluations and economic analyses across a range of sectors, but particularly within health and care services and in the climate and environmental field. Through her project work, she has gained extensive experience in collecting and analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data. Her work has included compiling data from multiple sources, conducting surveys and in-depth interviews, and analyzing register data. Mie wrote an empirical master’s thesis on inheritance and the impact of the Norwegian inheritance tax on inequality. Through this work, she gained experience in processing and analyzing large datasets. She previously worked at Kantar as a Panel Assistant, where she managed panel surveys and conducted quality control of data.
