Knut Erik Walter has a Master of Science from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and has extensive experience from Telenor both as a professional expert and leader in research, operational units and central group units. His primary area of expertise is mobile communications. Knut Erik has worked extensively with technology strategy, first for the mobile networks in Norway, later to coordinate the systems in all Telenor’s markets in Europe and Asia. He has prepared a large number of reports and recommendations. Knut Erik is very good at explaining complex issues both in writing and orally. He works well in teams and has experience from international committee work to set technical standards. He has also participated in a number of technical negotiations in various procurement projects. Knut Erik and colleagues in Oslo Economics have assisted The Norwegian Directorate for Civil Protection (DSB) with the concept study for the next generation Nødnett (emergency communication).
